Michael Evers was strongly influenced by the brilliance of  Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat and began his creation of celebrity portraits in the early 1980's.

Having had the opportunity to watch and learn from the talented KEITH HARING as he created his now famous New York City Subway Murals, Michael incorporated the simplicity of Haring's lines, the beauty of Warhol's color and the written word of Basquiat and developed his own style of personality portraiture. He has had the opportunity to meet with many of the famous celebrity subjects who have graciously signed their portraits thus making their signatures and written comments a part of the original piece.

Michael received a B.A. in Arts and Literature from SUNY Empire State College, NY and is pursuing a Masters Degree in Teaching. He is a member of Actor’s Equity  (AEA) and the Screen Actor’s Guild  (SAG) and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He also had the opportunity to study acting with  the late Phil Gushee and  the late Freddy Kareman. He has appeared Off-Broadway and in numerous regional acting workshops and theater productions.

Born and raised in New York Michael currently lives on a house barge on Long Island with his two pugs, Lilly & Hannah and a cat named Eartha.

With the onset of the technological age and the creation of The Michael Evers Art Gallery, his art pieces are currently sold and displayed throughout the world.
